Responsibilities of The Board of Directors

 

  • Develop, review and amend (as necessary) the Foundation's mission and goals.
  • Provide for staff and financial resources to support the directives issued by the Board.
  • Ensure strong financial management.
  • Endorse the scholarship and educational programs of the Foundation and ensure that all programs are within IRS guidelines for 501 (c) {3) organizations.
  • Approve the Foundation's gift acceptance policies and donor recognition
    program.
  • Assist in the fund-raising process and in the identification of key volunteers and / or prospects.
  • Review and evaluate the achievement of the Foundation's annual goals and
    strategies.
  • Elect officers of the Board of Directors and develop an orderly replacement
    process for new Directors.
  • Be familiar with, and adhere to, the by-laws and articles of incorporation of The Delta Chi Educational Foundation, with particular attention to those sections pertaining to the nature and purpose of the Foundation.
  • Participate to the best of your means, in making financial gifts the Educational
    Foundation and supporting and special fund raising projects that arise.
