UIFI Scholarships Awarded

Several years ago, Fred Hammert, OK '60 made a stock contribution to The Foundation in order to fund scholarships for the Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute in Bloomington, IN. The Foundation used the last of his generous funds this year to provide $395 scholarships to each of the following undergraduate members:

Alex Cidado   Massachusetts
Kevin Cogan   Pittsburgh
Brad Fiedler   Whitewater
William Halaby   South Florida
Hong An Nguyen   Washburn
Andrew Sutton   South Dakota State
Adam Quigley   Ferris State
LeAnthony Walker   West Alabama

From the North American Interfraternity Conference Website:

"UIFI is a five day institute that brings together fraternity men and sorority women from across North America to create opportunities to explore, define, and enhance their leadership skills, personal awareness, commitment to their fraternity or sorority, and grow to expect values based action from themselves and those they lead."

"Leadership is not dominance, it's trust. Leadership is not recklessness, it's character. Leadership is not snobbish, it's compassion. Lastly, leadership is not a dictatorship, it's a brotherhood. I truly appreciate this because I have really gotten a lot out of this experience. I suggest you continue to send leaders of Delta Chi to UIFI to better our fraternity nationally." - LeAnthony Walker, West Alabama
