All-Florida Chapter Founders Day Celebration
|
| |
Delta Chi brothers from across the country convened in Tampa on October 3 for the All-Florida Chapters Founders Day weekend to celebrate the history of the fraternity and engage in fellowship of the Bond. Some 200 brothers from 20 different chapters were in attendance. |
| |
| The University of South Florida chapter played host to the event, which was capped off with a great evening at the Marshall Student Center on the campus of USF. Guest speakers included Region IIIV, Regent Bill Tallman, Embry-Riddle ‘98, Past "AA" Chuck Mancuso, Florida State ’87, Educational Foundation President Chad Wolett, Arizona State ’94, and Keynote Speaker Congressman John Mica, Florida ‘58. |
| |
| Brother Mancuso noted that the event was especially meaningful as his Chapter at Florida State was added as a colony this fall. |
| |
Congressman Mica’s address focused on the leadership of Delta Chi brothers and included inspiration for all who attended. His main message was that of the 10, 2-letter words. “If it is to be, it is up to me.” Mica explained that he learned this saying as a young Delta Chi member and he still lives by the credo today. |

In addition to the guest speakers, the event welcomed New Founders;

| Six members of the FSU colony were in attendance. Members from Florida, South Florida and Embry-Riddle did their best to make sure all guests had a good time. |
| |
| A special thanks goes out to the members of the South Florida chapter for their hospitality and professionalism during the entire weekend. Because of them, the event was a huge success. |
