All-Florida Chapter Founders Day Celebration

Delta Chi brothers from across the country convened in Tampa on October 3 for the All-Florida Chapters Founders Day weekend to celebrate the history of the fraternity and engage in fellowship of the Bond. Some 200 brothers from 20 different chapters were in attendance.

The University of South Florida chapter played host to the event, which was capped off with a great evening at the Marshall Student Center on the campus of USF. Guest speakers included Region IIIV, Regent Bill Tallman, Embry-Riddle ‘98, Past "AA" Chuck Mancuso, Florida State ’87, Educational Foundation President Chad Wolett, Arizona State ’94, and Keynote Speaker Congressman John Mica, Florida ‘58.

Brother Mancuso noted that the event was especially meaningful as his Chapter at Florida State was added as a colony this fall.

Congressman Mica’s address focused on the leadership ofAll Florida Chapter Founders Day CelebrationDelta Chi brothers and included inspiration for all who attended. His main message was that of the 10, 2-letter words. “If it is to be, it is up to me.” Mica explained that he learned this saying as a young Delta Chi member and he still lives by the credo today.

In addition to the guest speakers, the event welcomed New Founders;

Steve Michels Marquette '87
Roy Payne, Jr. Cornell ’52
Patrick Weber Oklahoma '87

and Order of the White Carnation recipients;

Six members of the FSU colony were in attendance. Members from Florida, South Florida and Embry-Riddle did their best to make sure all guests had a good time.

A special thanks goes out to the members of the South Florida chapter for their hospitality and professionalism during the entire weekend. Because of them, the event was a huge success.
