The Delta Chi Educational
Foundation is proud to announce that it is offering
nine $350 scholarships
to attend this years sessions of the Futures Quest Leadership
Seminar. Scholarships are available for each Delta Chi Region.
|
| Futures
Quest provides leadership training to men who have joined a fraternity
in the last year. The focus of the weekend is identifying personal
strength and limitations, developing leadership and communication
skills, exploring personal values and strength of conviction, and
making a commitment to fraternal ideals. Futures Quest is an intensive
living-learning experience, with programs starting early in the morning
and stretching well into the evenings. |
 |
Futures Quest takes
place in the outdoors in Central Indiana. The wooded and beautiful
retreat site offers modern facilities for our learning, sleeping,
recreational, and food needs. A high ropes course is a critical
part of the weekend for all participants.
|
|
The DCEF will provide
one $350.00 Scholarship per Fraternity Region. This will allow
up
to 9 members to attend.
|
|
Why should new members
attend Futures Quest? Results from last year's survey of attendee's
show that:
- 95% believe
the program gave them tools to be a better leader in their
chapter.
|
- 95% now
appreciate their fraternity more because of Futures Quest.
|
- 93% believe
that Futures Quest will cause them to make positive changes
in their chapter.
|
- 92% believe
that Futures Quest gave them courage to do what’s right.

We participated in activities teaching us
about things like a fraternity’s perception, budgeting,
E-Board positions, and how to stop hazing. The days were
spent in mostly small group settings with a few large
meetings with all the people participating in Futures Quest.
There was an overall theme of respect between the different
fraternities and it was educational to hear all their
stories and issues, which are common regardless of the
fraternity or campus.
Besides discussing fraternity matters we
also
did many leadership and team building exercises. Each person
was given multiple opportunities to lead a group and was
given great advice from the staff while doing so. Overall,
from Futures Quest each participant walked away a better
person. Every fraternity should send representatives at
least once a year because it helps you attain values and
skills necessary for a successful chapter.
